Hydroxycobalamin (ohcbl, or B12a) is a natural form of vitamin B12, or one of the vitamin B12 classes. It is a basic member of the cobalamine group. Many of the bacteria that produce vitamins commercially produce vitamin B12 in the form of hydroxycobalamin. Hydroxycobalamin is dark red. Vitamin B12 in the human body is not normally present in the form of hydroxycobalamin. However, in humans, hydroxycobalamin is easily converted into a useful coenzyme form of vitamin B12. Function
